slow food

Review of Slow Cooker Cooking by Lora Brody. Sounds like a fab book. The review includes recipes from the book for Risotto With Parmesan, Chicken Merlot With Mushrooms, Bourbon Caramel Sauce With Whipped Cream, and Bread Pudding. Yum. [via gulker and Anita Rowland]

From her book I've made:
dulce de leche (for potlatch hospitality suite and my wedding -- served with apple slices)
carmelized garlic (used it in soup, on bread, in pasta, in mashed potatoes)
chickpeas
coconut rice pudding
regular rice pudding
pear crumble

I cook meat and chicken in the slow cooker, too (beef with Knorr's oxtail soup mix is good) but I haven't used her recipes yet.
