moving to movable type

When I first started this weblog, tools for building weblogs didn't exist-- I coded everything by hand. Then I used Blogger for a while, then Greymatter.

Last night I switched over to Movable Type.

Well, the main page here is converted. I haven't yet customized templates for individual pages, archive pages, etc. I did import 500+ entries and close to 300 comments from Greymatter successfully (go me!). So anyway. Watch out for falling HTML or something. I'll keep working on this. Next up: switching tvpicks.net to Movable Type (maybe).

Let the record show: I still love those other tools. They've served me well.

Does that mean you are still unemployed? This sounds like a daunting task, but probably fun, too. I found your weblog about a month ago when I was reviewing blogs all over trying to decide which tool to use, what format to use, etc. I finally decided on Moveable Type as well, but I haven't had time to customize the interface.

I underemployed -- doing clerical work until the tech field picks up again. Used to do web design / usability / project management. Used to stay up until Midnight to watch Homicide on Court TV.

Hey, Laurel, I'm visiting your blog for the first time. Do you live in the Twin Cities?

Anyway, I'm probably going to switch to Movable Type too...right now, I'm in archive HELL with Blogger. I hate it. :-(
