Actor Kevin Smith dies, after a fall in China. He's probably best known for playing Ares on Xena and Hercules. I always thought he was great in that role and I really enjoyed that character. He leaves behind a wife and three kids. Sigh.

it's horribly sad and shocking :-\ he was a fine actor and, from all reports, an all around fantastic human being. he was one of my all time favourite performers...

i heard about it at work today, didn't believe it. he was fantastic on xena and it is just so incredibly sad that he died so young.

I'll be in denial for a long time.
